Bedroom moodboard: charcoal, mustard, silver

So one of the things I said I want to do this month is work on our bedroom. I still love the duvet cover we bought last year, so I'm working from that color scheme of yellow and grey. You may remember that we re-painted the walls using Sherwin Williams' Evening Shadow, a pale, silvery grey, and we hung mustardy yellow and charcoal grey curtains. We replaced the ugly old ceiling lights with fisherman's lights in a weathered copper and have industrial-looking nightstands in chrome -- I like to mix metals because I think it feels more natural and collected over time.

We're going for a sort of rustic-meets-industrial-birds-in-the-woods theme for this room. Because Andy and I both really like the look of trees, we already hung a tree wall decal on one of the walls next to the bed (similar to this). It's still a work in progress, so I'll definitely show pictures when it's done. I bought the hummingbird lamp below for Andy's side of the bed and it's adorable (though kinda wobbly), and I think I might get the owl lamp for my side of the bed. I didn't really want to buy a set because I wanted it to feel "found" but the hummingbird lamp is kind of oddly small so I have had trouble finding another lamp that fits the theme and the size. I also want to pick up some more art to add to what I have already to really bring the room to life and make it feel finished. I don't want to make the room too theme-y, but it's so much fun!

The only other finishing touch will be a headboard, and we finally know what what we'll do. When our barn/garage was torn down, the crew found the original barn door hidden in an interior wall! We're going to cut it down, clean it up and use it for a headboard. Lots of pictures to come!!
